Volunteers complement our staff and support our mission by participating in a wide variety of tasks depending on their particular skills. Our volunteer program is flexible, striving to meet the needs of both the volunteer and Providence House.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Assist in the Child Care Center
Assist House Managers in our residences
Assist with administrative tasks (i.e., assist with our holiday drive or work as an aide to the Director of Mission & Human Resources)
Assist with computer maintenance and repair
Special Volunteer Projects
Assist with our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas drive
Participate in household repairs (painting, minor repairs, cleaning)
Organize a cooking class
Provide tutoring
Organize Arts and Crafts projects
Assist with gardening tasks
Some Requirements of our volunteers:
You must be 21 years of age and up
Female volunteers only for those who request room and board
Able to live and work with a diverse group of people
Able to live in an urban area
Willing to support the mission and values of Providence House
Volunteers Those individuals who are interested in an extended volunteer experience - usually lasting one year - must be 21 years and older. You will receive a monthly stipend, room and board, and options for health coverage.
Short-Term Volunteers:Those individuals who would consider a shorter time commitment - usually lasting from one week to 2 months - must be 18 years and one year out of high school. Room and board (if needed) offered. Summer volunteers can start anytime from May 31st.
Special Volunteer Projects: Project proposals are considered throughout the year depending on need. Projects in the past have ranged from construction, decorating, landscaping to a back to school supply drive for our students.
